Presenter: Emilis Prelgauskas (Architect, sustainability advocate and long time Prius owner) is well known to ATA members for his energy efficient building designs and as a speaker on a wide range of sustainability subjects.
For the August meeting he promises a ‘science content heavy’ session on hybrid cars.
His own Prius is now 12 years old and he’s driven 320,000 km in it. He’ll compare the early doom and gloom predictions of short life and high depreciation with his real world experience.
He’ll also look at the proposal by ‘vehicle-to-grid’ (V2G) advocates to link hybrid and electric cars with building power systems.
As usual with Emilis’ presentations this will be a two way conversation allowing the questions you’ve always wanted to ask.
ATA meetings put people with questions in touch with people who might have answers. The Q&A session after the main presentation is an open discussion about sustainability topics. For example:
- Who can help with an issue?
- What’s on in other parts of Adelaide, SA and Australia?
- Any events you’ve been to and what you’ve learned.
- What presentations or field trips would you’d like?
