Batteries: How to Select the Right One for the Right Purpose
Our guest speaker for August is Baden Haussmann from GNB Industrial Power. This is a good follow-up topic to our previous meeting about Total Off Grid Power. Baden will talk about the different types of battery technologies available and the difference between the standalone systems verses the hybrid systems.
This is complex subject and can be very expensive if you get it wrong. Baden will explain all the pros and cons, some of the pitfalls many of you might not be aware of and how to size a system for your individual needs. He will also explain life cycle verses design life, life costs of a system, capacity rates and temperature factor to be considered.
Baden is a recognised trainer in the off grid/power backup industry and will bring along handouts for you to take away with you for later reference.
This talk can be extremely beneficial to anyone considering an off grid system or finding out more about a hybrid system, which by all accounts sounds quite interesting. This will be a very interesting meeting, one not to be missed and one which could potentially save you a lot on money.
ATA Members are encouraged to bring along guests to our monthly meetings and any suggestions regarding future speaker subjects, or ATA direction, to our committee meeting. Light refreshments will be served after the meeting where further discussion and general mingling take place over a cup of tea or coffee and a few nibblies.
Committee meeting from 6.30pm – all welcome.
