How to Make Insulation Work for You
Rav De Silva has a wealth of experience and knowledge gained from working in the building and construction industry. Ray has an Engineering Degree and hands-on experience giving Rav him an invaluable understanding of the need for practical, cost-effective and innovative solutions. These are needed to address on-site issues, provide long-term value and make for comfortable homes. This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about insulation and how important it is for home design. This is a practical talk that will focus on the costs of sustainable home design. Is it possible to get a house built for under $3000/m2? If standard owner-builder home costs are between $500-1400/m2 where are the rest of these costs going?
The format for the evening will allow for questions and cover:
• Design Basics
• Case Study – new build in Peakhurst versus renovation
• Insulation Types – comparing different materials and reflective insulation
• Condensation – what it is and how to avoid it happening
