This weekend is shaping up to be HUGE for local sustainability events in Cairns.
Saturday 13 July, we have the ATA stall at the Mareeba Markets 8:00am – 1:00 pm.
Sunday 14 July the Cairns Sustainable Living Expo is on from 12:00pm – 5:00pm at Fogarty Park, Cairns Esplanade, Cairns.
“The site will become a colourful Sustainable Living Village, providing an opportunity for local businesses and organisations to showcase their products and services, and for the community to access sustainability information while enjoying a great day out. You can expect to find out about living more comfortably for less, how to use renewable energy in your home, community banking solutions, how to use less water, recycle and compost plus so much more. There will be a children’s precinct with free jumping castle, recycled craft area and face-painting; local musicians Chillax and the Hot and Wet Swing Set, creative performers and great local food to eat. There will be a live demonstration every half an hour on practical ideas of how to live more sustainably each day.
We’d love to have local ATA members drop in to either of these two events and say hello to show your support and even share working on the stall for a while. If you’d like to assist then please contact Daryl Douglass on 0428 715 926 or [email protected]
