ATA Adelaide branch meeting - Sundrop Farms – sustainable food productionMay 15, 2017 at 7:30 pm

Where: Goodwood Community Centre (Banquet Hall), 32 Rosa St, Goodwood SA. The centre is convenient to the tram, buses and train. Enter the car park via Florence St.
Cost: ATA members $2. Non-members $5, tea, coffee and biscuits provided.
Presentation: Frazer-Nash Consultancy (FNC) has been closely involved in the design, construction and performance monitoring of the water, energy and growing systems at Sundrop Farms’ extensive operation at Port Augusta.
Marc Lyell, FNC Business Manager, will explain the seawater purification, solar thermal electricity generation, food production and energy efficiency features of this highly innovative facility. He’ll overview their design philosophy, performance and future directions.
We’ve been keen to host a presentation about Sundrop Farms for some time so please publicise this to anyone who you think will be interested.
Adelaide branch committee election: As announced in the March newsletter an election for the positions of Convenor, Treasurer and Committee will be held.
The visit to Seeley International was well attended and members enjoyed an extensive two hour tour of the manufacturing operations.
The Adelaide Sustainable Building Network will host two forums on May 1st and 2nd: Creating a Positive Impact and Building Nutrition. See the ASBN Facebook page here for details.
ATA meetings put people with questions in touch with people who might have answers. The Q&A session is an open discussion about sustainability topics.
