This month’s meeting will examine the status of the wind energy industry via two 20min DVDs and a short introductory talk by Trevor Berrill. Wind energy is still one of the faster growing renewable energy technologies in the world, with capacity expanding at about 25% each year. It is now the cheapest of all electricity production technologies, and hence is the preferred option for finance companies.

DVD1 – ENERCON – This DVD shows the manufacture of large wind generators by one of the world’s leading manufacturers, the German company, ENERCON. Their innovation in wind turbine design and construction “will blow you away”.

DVD2 – Horns Rev – This DVD shows the construction of the first large off-shore windfarm in Denmark, completed in 2002 and consisting of 80 x 2Megawatt Vesta wind turbines.

You can see Trevor's presentation here.
