Subject: Peter and Peter will discuss recent developments in the ACT House Energy Ratings (ACTHERS) scheme. In addition new energy ratings for window coverings (in Australia, USA and Europe) will be “covered”.
This discussion of energy ratings will serve as a lead-in to our March meeting at which Vanessa Morris, the coordinator of the ACT House Energy Rating Scheme will give a run-down on where energy rating and measurement of building sustainability are at present and how they are likely to develop in the future.
Peter Lyons is the convenor of the Canberra branch of the ATA.
He is Principal of Peter Lyons & Associates. and a joint founder of DesignBuilder Software Australia.
He is a building physicist who has specialised in energy performance of windows and glass for over 20 years and is a one of the original developers of the Window Energy Rating Scheme (WERS).
Peter Overton is treasurer of the Canberra branch of the ATA. He is an architect with TT Architecture in Canberra and has many years experience in design of environmentally sustainable structures.
Following the presentations the floor will be thrown open to the membership (and friends) to find out what subjects people would like to see covered in the coming year.
